You are now ready to begin Step #2, Uploading Content. Your purpose and objectives will guide both the type and quantity of content you select and help make sure it is germane to your purposes.
Step #2, Uploading content, comes before inviting people to your site because there are few things more bewildering than coming to an empty site and seeing nothing there. Your invitees may go away and never come back again. People won’t easily know what to do until they see some examples of content they can click on – something they can do.
Log on to your private website (Go to www.lastinglinks.com and click the “Member Login” button on the right near the top of any of the blogs. Type in your username and password and click, “Submit”.)
Uploading photos and other content is pretty intuitive. However, here are some step-by-step instructions if you get stuck:
1. Click a tab to upload content. (People view photos more than any other type of content, so you may want to start on uploading photos, first.)
2. Click “Add Photos.”
3. Choose “Max Uploader” or “Browse” for individual photo uploads:
4. Select a category, if desired:
5. Click “Run.”
6. Click “Add Files”:
7. Navigate to and select the files to upload:
8. Click the “Upload Files” button:
9. Click the “O.K.” button (not shown) and the files will begin loading.
10. You will then automatically see the photos you have uploaded under “View Photos.”
11. To feature a photo (or any other file) on the Home Page, click “Feature.”
12. Add a description and/or comments:

There you have it. Essentially the same steps for uploading content to the Photos section work for the other sections. (Except “Discuss,” which is a discussion forum. How to use the discussion forum will be explained later.)
